On this this page you will find some of the technical terms used by the industry.

OFF GRID
Off Grid is defined as a characteristic of a living lifestyle independent of one or more public utilities. Off Grid Inverters are therefore designed to function independently of the public Grid.

GRID TIE SYSTEM
A Grid Tie system implies that the system is connected to the public Grid and it is synchronized to the frequency of the Grid. A Grid tie inverter (also know as On-Grid Inverter) is an inverter that ultimately allow electricity produced by the solar system to be fed (sold) into the public Grid if this energy cannot be used instantaneously.

HYBRID SYSTEM
An Hybrid in our context is a system that combines Off and On Grid capability and that the same same has it storage system to store energy that cannot be used as energy is being produced.

SINGLE PHASE

INVERTERS
Inverters is the electronic circuitry that converts the direct current that is produced by the solar panels into useful Grid quality power at the the right frequency 50Hz or 60Hz depending on the country where the system is installed.

SOLAR PANELS
Solar panels are the the most important components of a solar system system. For a system to be characterized as solar system one or more solar panels must be installed. The main function of the panels is to capture the energy from the Sun or/and ambient light into useful energy.

BATTERY
The function of the battery is to temporary store energy that cannot be used as the energy is being produced. This store energy energy can then be used when required.
